If you lose your job, if your company goes under, you will have a means to make a living some sort of living.  Now that living is gonna vary based on how much money you have in your account.  But if you learn the skill, if you learn how to be consistently profitable, you will never be hungry. You set your schedule, you set your life, and this is so critical to understand that trading is a skill. It's a skill like being an electrician, like building a house, a dentist, like running fibre optic cable, learning how to do web design, graphics design, artwork, you name it. That's a skill set. A Comeback from a Drawdown By Tom When the level of risk goes up, our ability to perform goes down.  Beginners make money on small trades, start feeling confident, and jack up trade size. That’s when they start losing. The increased level of risk on bigger positions makes them stiffer and less nimble, and that’s all it takes to fall behind. Let me give you an example. In one of my seminars way back in the day I had a talk about RISK. I asked the attendees if I pay them R10 will they walk on the conference table from the one side to the other. Most said yes they will do it without doubt. Then I beefed up the stake and said I will give R1000 to the person that will walk across the beam at the top of the hotel crossing over to the next, each is a ten-floor building , the beam is sturdy and about the same width and length of the conference table.
